Today was a glorious day in the world of retro gaming. Wolfenstein 3D - the original 3d first person shooter - was released for the iPhone.
18 years on from it's first appearance as a DOS game John Carmack, the games original author, has reworked the game that started the whole '3d maze full of monsters' genre for the modern day, and for £2.99 (or free if you are a registered iphone developer and have access to the SDK as the game is open source) it's a bargain.
This takes me of many a happy hour spent running round shooting Nazis, struggling for a decent frame rate on my 386 PC.
Better still, there are rumours of an iPhone version of Doom in the pipeline... :D
