We started this game of Star Wars Risk on July 13th...

as of last night it still isn't finished...

  • Marc - Grey / White Empire pieces

Edit: Marc has asked me to point out that although 12 days old, the game has only reached about 7 hours actual playing time over the two sessions we've played...

Summer eh?

I'm sure this used to be a track! As we were up at Marc's house yesterday and nobody else was around I headed up to Sherwood for a blast about on my own.

You've got to love this summer weather - it absolutely chucked it down for most of the drive up, although it did ease as I pulled into the carpark.

As I got the bike off the car the rain finally stopped and by some miracle held off for the entire duration of my ride.

I've not been to Sherwood for a while, what with having been to Cannock a couple of times and then having the challenge weekend and parental visitations.

You can tell it has rained a lot recently there as the single track is all rather boggy and in some places overgrown to the point of impassable - certainly the brambles and nettles are encroaching the point of scratched and stung legs on some tracks!

As I pulled out of the car park after an hour of so's riding the rain started again!

Miranda's New Car

Alfa LovelynessHaving been looking to replace her Ka for a while now and not being able to choose a car she fancied, Mi had decided she liked the look of the new Fiesta and was going to look at getting one when they come out.

As Ford still haven't published a release date for that she got bored last week and went and bought a (bargain!) Alfa Romeo 147 Sport instead...

It's the 120bhp 1.9 diesel and is absolutely gorgeous... and it was pretty cheap too as it was the demonstrator / service loan vehicle at the dealership. It was even cheaper once we'd got £1300 off the price in part exchange for the Ka...

She was hoping to push them up to around £500, so for a 7 year old car with only 1000 miles on it we were astonished at the offer...

OK, so it is actually 101000 miles, but the odometer doesn't have enough numbers to cope with that (I don't think Ford envisaged many Ka's doing that sort of distance) and so it looped round back to 00000 about 5 weeks ago!

She picked it up today and hasn't stopped grinning yet...
